Through guided demonstrations, movement exploration, and applied programming, you’ll learn to use the Ped-O-Pul as a tool for intelligent, integrated teaching that informs your entire studio practice.

The Ped-O-Pul is one of the most underused yet profoundly effective pieces of traditional Pilates apparatus. Deceptively simple in design, it offers powerful feedback for posture, breath, and deep core integration.
✴ Safe set-up and positioning for all client levels
✴ How spring feedback transforms posture, breath, and core coordination
✴ Progressions and regressions for beginners through advanced clients
✴ Cueing strategies for intelligent, integrated movement
✴ How to integrate Ped-O-Pul principles across other apparatus and mat work
✴ Value traditional apparatus and want to understand its deeper purpose
✴ Are interested in fascia-informed teaching and load transfer principles
✴ Work with clients experiencing postural or shoulder challenges
✴ Want to refine their approach to upright integration and cueing

Describe the original purpose of the Ped-O-Pul within the traditional Pilates studio.
Explain why upright spring feedback is uniquely valuable for postural re-education in contemporary bodies.
Demonstrate safe set-up and positioning of the Ped-O-Pul.
Identify contraindications and precautions for common client presentations (balance challenges, shoulder pathology, hypermobility, acute pain).
Apply appropriate spotting and supervision strategies in an upright spring environment.
Analyse the influence of upper extremity spring feedback on thoracic alignment and axial elongation.
Explain how arm spring resistance affects load transfer through the rib cage, spine, and pelvis.
Recognise common compensatory patterns such as rib flaring, gripping, bracing, or posterior weight shift.
Describe the relationship between upright spring loading, breath mechanics, and pelvic diaphragm responsiveness.
Identify how upper limb spring work can facilitate improved deep core coordination.
Apply cueing strategies that support dynamic pelvic floor engagement without over-recruitment.
Teach foundational Ped-O-Pul exercises with clarity and safety.
Progress and regress exercises using variations in spring tension, stance, arm position, and tempo.
Integrate Ped-O-Pul principles into other apparatus and mat work.
Design short progressive sequences that utilise the Ped-O-Pul to improve posture and upright stability.
Select appropriate clients for Ped-O-Pul work based on postural and movement assessment.
Justify the inclusion of Ped-O-Pul exercises within a broader programming framework.
Translate insights gained from Ped-O-Pul work into improved cueing and sequencing across the studio.
