Whole Body Pelvic Health

A whole body method for the leaking and urgency no one explained properly

BEYOND KEGELS

You've done the Kegels.

Faithfully.

And you're still crossing your legs before you sneeze. Panicking when you get to the front door. Mapping out the public toilets in your town.

This isn't a failure of your effort — it's a gap in what you were taught.

Let me show you what's been missing.

What women are saying:

Maybe this the first time someone has actually explained what is going on inside your body...

Claire Sparrow teaching a lady who suffers from incontinence in her studio in Leeds

If it is, you are not behind. You were simply never shown.

Here is the piece nobody handed me, even as a Pilates teacher and a mother of three: your pelvic floor does not work alone.

It is in constant conversation with your breath, your ribs, your diaphragm; your whole body.

When that conversation breaks down, you leak. Not because you are weak. Because the signal is getting lost.

That is why squeezing harder so often makes things worse. You are shouting at one muscle when the whole system needs to be brought back into rhythm.

When I was diagnosed with prolapse, the standard advice — just do your pelvic floor exercises — wasn't working.

It was making things worse.

So I went looking for what was missing.

IS THIS YOU RIGHT NOW?

If you found your way here, I am willing to bet your story sounds familiar.

✔️ You have been told to do your Kegels, and you have done them - faithfully, consistently and things have not improved the way you hoped they would.

✔️ You struggle with that sudden, overwhelming urge to get to the toilet, the key-in-the-door panic, the just-in-case trip before you leave the house that has quietly become your way of life.

✔️ You are tired of leaking when you sneeze, laugh, jump, run, or get up off the floor and the unpredictability of it is exhausting.

✔️ You are avoiding things you used to love... the trampoline, the run, the exercise class because you no longer trust your body when it is under pressure.

If so, you’re not alone.

And there IS a way to get back to who you were before...

Just imagine if…

• You finally understood what was actually driving your symptoms AND why the advice you were given was incomplete, not you.

• That constant background hum of anxiety... the mental map of every toilet, the planning, the just-in-case wee - was no longer running in the background.

• You understood the difference between stress and urge incontinence and knew, at last, why treating them as if they are the same thing has been holding you back.

• Your symptoms were no longer the thing that quietly dictated which version of your life was available to you.

Introducing Beyond Kegels

A whole body method for continence and confidence — because not all leaking is the same, and it is time you knew the difference.

The beyond kegels course inside look

This is not another "squeeze harder" programme.

After my prolapse diagnosis, I realised that the traditional approach was entirely backwards. The pelvic floor does not exist in isolation. It is part of a complex, beautiful, whole body system.

Incontinence is not a strength problem. It is a communication problem.

Beyond Kegels teaches your body how to communicate again. We reconnect the breath, the diaphragm, the ribs, and the pelvic floor.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL GET

Everything inside Beyond Kegels has been built around one principle: you deserve to understand your own body.

Not just what to do but why.

Because understanding is what makes it sustainable.

Here is what we work through together, step by step.

This is not a list of exercises. It is a map of understanding.

Module 1: Why Kegels Are Not the Whole Answer

This is where everything changes. Before we do a single exercise, we rebuild your understanding of what your pelvic floor actually is, how it works as part of your whole body ecosystem, and why the standard advice has been keeping so many women stuck.

You will finish this module thinking: why has no one explained it like this before? That is not a coincidence. That is the whole point.

Module 2: Stress Versus Urge — Why the Difference Is Everything

Not all leaking is the same. Stress incontinence is a load and coordination challenge. Urge incontinence is a nervous system and signalling challenge. They arise from completely different places in the body and they ask for completely different responses. Giving them the same treatment is like giving the same medicine for two entirely different conditions.

In this module we identify which pattern is most dominant for you, and from there, your whole approach changes.

Module 3: The Vital Role of Breath

Breathing is the first concept of the Whole Body Pelvic Health method and it is the key that unlocks everything else. Your breathing diaphragm and your pelvic diaphragm work together as a direct partnership. When one is compromised, the other cannot function fully.

In this module you learn how to invite three-dimensional breath back into your body gently, without forcing and what happens when your pelvic floor finally feels that it has the support it needs.

Module 4: Stress Incontinence Classes — Re-educating the Timing

Three full classes — 1 minute, 5 minutes, and 30 minutes — designed specifically for stress incontinence. We focus on coordinating breath with movement, gradual load, and vertical functional positions so your pelvic floor learns to respond in time.

No impact, no fear, no starting from zero and going straight to a HIIT class.

We build gradually and intelligently. And you will feel the difference.

Module 5: Urge Incontinence Classes — Calming the System

Three full classes — 1 minute, 5 minutes, and 30 minutes — designed specifically for urge incontinence. Here the focus is calming, regulating, lengthening. Slow breath. Rib mobility. Gentle rotation. Learning to release rather than grip.

This is the counterintuitive piece that most programmes miss entirely: when your nervous system is overactive, more effort makes things worse. Less force, more softness, real change.

Module 6: Bowel Incontinence — The One Nobody Talks About

I am going to say it because nobody else does: breaking wind when you do not want to is bowel incontinence. And it is more common than anyone admits. This dedicated class works on the back of your pelvic floor, rebuilds the brain-to-body connection in that area, and shows you what is actually possible when we stop pretending this part does not exist.

You are not alone in this. And yes, there is hope here too.

"I've been there"

Meet Claire

Claire Sparrow

I'm Claire Sparrow — second-generation Pilates teacher, bestselling author of Hope for Your Pelvic Floor, and founder of Whole Body Pelvic Health.

For more than 25 years I taught Pilates and studied movement. I trained under world-leading anatomy experts. I taught women how to move well, breathe well, and feel at home in their bodies. Pelvic health wasn't my specialism then — when a client needed that support, I referred her on to a physiotherapist, just as I'd been taught to.

And then I was diagnosed with prolapse.

On the outside, everything looked fine. Successful teacher. Strong, capable body. Decades spent understanding how movement works.

But on the inside?

I was terrified.

Because I was a movement professional — and here I was, being handed a leaflet about Kegels by the very physiotherapist I'd been referring my own clients to for years.

I did the Kegels. Faithfully. Consistently. Every single day.

And things got worse, not better.

That was the moment everything shifted. This cannot be right. Something is missing here. If the standard advice wasn't working for me, someone who understood the body, why on earth was it the only thing any of us was ever given?

So I went looking for the missing piece.

I went back into the anatomy. Into the fascia research. Back into everything I knew about the body as a whole system; not a collection of parts to be strengthened one by one.

And what I found changed everything: not just for my own body, but for the thousands of women I've worked with since.

The moment I stopped forcing and started listening - when I let my breath soften, when I began to feel what was actually happening in the tissue, things started to shift. Not overnight. But there was space where there had been none.

I didn't want to simply manage my prolapse.

I wanted to run around with my boys. To lift things without the mental calculation. To say yes to all of it, without that quiet voice asking but what if?

That is what built this method. And everything inside Beyond Kegels is what I wish someone had handed me the day I walked out of that clinic.

Beyond Kegels is not for you if...

This isn't the right course if you're hoping for a quick squeeze-and-fix routine.

It also isn't right if you'd rather not look at how the whole body is involved.

What you'll find inside is slower, kinder, and more curious than that and for the right person, that's exactly the point.

YOU HAVE READ THIS FAR

Healing begins with brave, imperfect decisions. You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to try a different way.

Things women ask me before they start

I have had incontinence for years. Is it too late for this to help?

In my 25 years of teaching I have worked with women at every stage, newly postnatal to well into their seventies, and I have never encountered a body that was beyond responding to the right kind of movement and education.

Your pelvic floor is a living, responsive part of your whole body system. It does not know how old it is. It does not know how long it has been struggling. It knows how to be worked with intelligently. That is what this course offers, and it is never too late to begin.

I have tried Kegels and they made things worse. Will this be the same?

No. And the reason that happened, the reason Kegels made things worse rather than better, is actually explained in detail inside this course.

For many women, the pelvic floor does not need more squeezing. It needs to be able to expand, release, breathe, and respond as part of a whole system. That is a fundamentally different starting point, and it is the reason this approach works differently.

I have stress incontinence, not urge incontinence. Is this still relevant to me?

Absolutely. Beyond Kegels has dedicated modules and class sequences for each type of incontinence, and one of the core things you will learn is exactly why they need different approaches.

Even if you only experience one type, understanding both will change how you move through your whole life and will mean you are prepared if things change, because bodies do change.

I do not have much time. Will I be able to keep up with this?

This course was built for real lives. The class sequences include one-minute, five-minute, and thirty-minute options.

There is always something that fits the day you are actually having. Consistency over time matters far more than the length of any single session. You do not need to be perfect. You just need to keep coming back.

I have had surgery — a hysterectomy, a prolapse repair, a c-section. Is this appropriate for me?

The Whole Body Pelvic Health method is a movement-based, breath-led approach that works with the body as it is now, not as it was before surgery or before children.

Many of the women I work with have surgical histories of various kinds. That said, every body is different, and I always recommend letting your healthcare provider know you are beginning a new movement practice.

What if it does not work for me?

I have helped thousands of women resolve their incontinence using this method. I have had clients tell me their symptoms improved within the first two sessions.

I have had women text me celebrating something they had not experienced in over a decade. I believe deeply in this work. But I also know that you deserve to begin with confidence — so please do reach out if you have specific concerns before you enrol. I read every message personally.

What is the difference between Beyond Kegels and the WBPH Membership?

Beyond Kegels is a self-contained, focused course specifically on incontinence — stress, urge, and bowel.

It is the course to take when you want to understand what is driving your symptoms and get a clear, intelligent starting point.

The WBPH Membership is the ongoing home: over 200 classes, monthly live sessions with Claire, community, guest experts, and a library that grows with you. Beyond Kegels is often where women begin. The membership is where many of them choose to stay.
